About Big Ear
BIG EAR Inc., is one of the leaders on the forefront of hearing health technologies. Noise
induced hearing loss is not just an industrial problem, but is a societal problem of major proportions. It
can effect anyone without regard to race, color, creed, sex, national origin or age.
In 2007, BIG EAR INC incorporated International Hearing Conservation Awareness Foundation, a not-for-profit organization for the purpose of furthering
noise induced hearing loss education supported by a research grant from industry and government.
The goal of BIG EAR INC is to have the same impact on the problem of noise induced hearing
loss that “buckle up!” has had on reducing the incidence of highway deaths.
The most amazing, and startling, fact is that it is entirely preventable!

5.2 million American workers in the manufacturing industries are exposed to average noise levels of
85 decibels (dB) - the level considered hazardous.
1 Million workers in the manufacturing industries alone have sustained job-related hearing loss,
and about one-half million of these have moderate-to-severe hearing impairments
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
more than 9 million American workers are exposed to noise levels above 85 dB when all noisy jobs
are considered including, military, mining, construction and transportation industries
